Overnight Dog Boarding at Northwest Dog Retreat
Northwest Dog Retreat is a private dog boarding facility in Arlington, Washington owned and operated by Patrick and Carol Bianchi. The facility is supervised by Jake and Max, our Jack Russell Terriers, and our newest "little" guy, Little Bear.
Jake loves dogs of all kinds. We rescued him in January of 2014 from Southern California. He is the official kennel playground supervisor, taste tester, and safety monitor. He also keeps me on task. Mealtimes are always punctual, and there is no sleeping in. He likes to get me up first thing so he can get out and spend the morning with the kennel guests.
Max, Jake's "little brother"! We found him on RescueMe.com and he arrived here at Northwest Dog Retreat on Friday, 9/12/14, from Texas. It's tough to get good pictures of him unless he's sleeping. He's like trying to take pictures of lightning!
Max is our official toy tester (the people at Petco refer to him as a 'chainsaw'), and security officer.

Little Bear is the newest member of the Bianchi Pack. He adopted us in the Summer of 2017 as a tiny puppy and has surprised Jake and the rest of us with how quickly he's grown! He's about 7 months old at this time, nearing 40 pounds, and is definitely giving Jake an education in new (big) little brothers. Jake tolerates his Little Bear's antics with many eye rolls, and is now starting to give in and play with him more. Jake's bunny is off limits though. Little Bear was rescued from a reservation in Montana, and has completely recovered from a remarkably rough start in life.
Carol has had dogs of various breeds her entire life. She works hard to keep her dogs happy, well-mannered and socialized. She has a degree in psychology which helped to hone her respect for animals of all types and a desire to help them reach their potential. Previously, Carol owned an equestrian business where she taught riding lessons, gave trail rides, and occasionally outfitted for overnight trips. Now you'll find her playing with the kennel guests or relaxing on the lounge chair in the dog yard (it's actually there for the dogs) with 4 or 5 dogs on her lap.
Patrick also has a love for all animals. He has retired from Boeing and plays an active part in managing and maintaining the kennel.
